How custom drape hardware extends the life of your window treatments
Will just any hardware work on your custom drapes in Colorado Springs (or anywhere else)? Anything that holds it on the wall should work, right?
Let us tell you a story.
Pikes Peak Interiors works on projects alone and with other designers. We once participated in a project in which another designer had worked with the client to order floor-to-ceiling blackout drapes and hardware to go with it. We had an opportunity to review the choices and discovered something very important.
The hardware wouldn’t hold the drapes!
The chosen hardware was rated for half the weight that heavy, 120-inch custom blackout drapes would need. The result would have been a window treatment with a short life span. At first, it would work, but over time the rod would have fallen off the wall. As it pulled away from the wall, the client would have been unable to open and close them, shortening the lifespan even more since blackout drapes make a room dark during the day. She would have missed out on our glorious Colorado Spring sunlight.
Elements of Custom Drape Hardware
We corrected the error and the project completed successfully, but this story makes an important point. Custom drape hardware comes in a full spectrum of designs and specifications. Your hardware has many elements and we help you choose something that is not only beautiful, but also technically appropriate.
• Finials are decorative ends of the rods
• Brackets attach to the wall and hold the rod
• Rings shape the custom drapes
• The choice of Poles and Rods have a profound effect on the look of your custom drapes
• Accessories and Rosettes provide the finishing touches
We have 30 years of experience designing beautiful and functional custom drapes, and we know how to make the most of windows in Colorado Springs’ sunny, high desert climate. We create window treatments that you will love.
And they will stay on the wall too.
